I adopted Starry Night back in 2003 from the PMU Foal Adoption Network Inc. (FANI). Starry and her foal mates are the by-product of an industry that provides hormone replacement therapy from the estrogen rich urine of their pregnant moms. After being born, many of these foals end up at auction or sent to feed lots, later to be slaughtered for food.
Starry is just a few days old here with her mom next to her in the background. She is a Percheron and will get huge.
This picture was taken Dec. 2008. Starry is five years old and you can see her head has gone almost white and coat is a gray with white star-burst dapples.
